Robbie FOWLER pulls OUT of NQF v Roar 23-January-2010 www.foxsports.com.au North Queensland Fury, Robbie Fowler to hold crisis talks over no-show North Queensland Fury will hold a crisis meeting with marquee man Robbie Fowler after the striker's A-League no-show on Saturday night. The former England and Liverpool forward refused to play in the 1-1 draw against the Brisbane Roar after being informed he would be starting the match on the bench. The move was the talk of Dairy Farmers Stadium with speculation rife the fans had seen the last of the 34-year-old in a Fury shirt. While Fury chairman Don Matheson dismissed that suggestion, he has confirmed he will hold clear-the-air talks with the absent star on Monday. "They were unlucky not to take the game and, although Robbie has been fantastic for the club, we're not a one-man team," Matheson said. "He's here to play football. He didn't play last night for reasons between him and the coach. "I'll talk to him tomorrow and it will be sorted out tomorrow. "Obviously I've been set up to speak to Robbie to sort out their differences. It didn't pan out the way I would like so I will probably intervene on that tomorrow and we'll move forward from there." Fowler's decision brought added headaches for coach Ian Ferguson on the pitch as well, with New Zealand forward Jeremy Brockie leaving the match against the Roar in the first half with a suspected broken leg.
